Why We Design Our Sterling Silver In-House
A lot of jewelry brands you'll find online work the same way: browse a wholesale catalog, pick pieces someone else designed, put your own logo on the packaging, and call it a collection. There's nothing illegal about it — it's how a huge share of the jewelry industry operates. But it's not how we build our sterling silver pieces, and we think that difference is worth explaining.
Designed Here, Not Selected From a Catalog
Our sterling silver designs — the cactus pendants, the sideways crosses, the mini crowns, the western-inspired pieces that read distinctly Scottsdale — start as our own ideas, not a supplier's existing catalog. That means when you see a piece on our site, you're not looking at the same mold available to a hundred other online stores under a hundred different brand names. The shape, the proportions, the small details — those are choices we made, not choices we inherited.
Why This Actually Matters
It's easy to treat "designed in-house" as a marketing line. Here's what it concretely means for you:
- You won't see the exact same piece everywhere. Wholesale-and-relabel jewelry, by definition, gets sold under dozens of different brand names. A design that's genuinely ours is genuinely ours.
- We control the material, not just the markup. When you design your own pieces, you decide what they're built from — which is why every one of our sterling pieces starts with real 92.5% silver, not whatever a wholesale catalog happened to offer at the lowest cost.
- Quality issues get fixed at the source. If a clasp isn't holding up the way we want, or a setting needs to be more secure, we can actually change it — because we're not waiting on someone else's factory to update their catalog.
Twenty Years in the Making
This approach is part of why our pieces have ended up in the gift shops of places like Four Seasons, The Phoenician, and Nordstrom, and why resorts across the Southwest have carried us for over two decades. Retail buyers who see thousands of wholesale catalogs a year can tell the difference between a piece that was designed with intention and one that was picked off a shelf — and so, we think, can you.
Every sterling piece on our site reflects that same standard, whether it's a $38 pair of studs or a $95 necklace: designed by us, built from genuine materials, and made to be worn for years, not one season.
